I admit I am a movie buff.

I like watching movies, be it from Bollywood or Hollywood, however at any given time or movie, they can be equally disgusting or really well done. Generally I think both Bollywood and Hollywood have their own charm and identities, and they both should not try imitating each other. However that doesnt always happen.

In the desi blogosphere, like me there are thousands of others who write on the state of Bollywood or Hollywood in reviews, previews or just their opinions. Some of them are really funny, while many others very well written - showcasing the interest of aam junta in our Bollywood.

Often times when I want to see a movie, I dig up the desi blogosphere first to see if someone has penned a review or preview of a bollywood / hollywood movie. Since average intelligensia of the blogosphere tends to be higher than average joe on road, I figure that their opinions hold much weight and reflect what I may like.

I often come accross extremely well written reviews and previews on many up coming releases, and it is almost impossible to highlight all of them on my personal blog. Hence - Nokjhok.

As the name suggests, Nokjhok aims to present contrasting views of an issue. Right now the focus is on entertainment, bollywood and the likes. For example, I would like to present opinions both in favor and against a particular movie. This is not intended at just movies, but also for entertainment in general. In future, current affairs, sports, news and other topics of interest will be added as well.

A note about linking posts though - the emphasis of this project is to highlight original writing by aam junta, and not by Taran Adarsh or Subash K Jha’s of the world.

As I start this project, join me in reading some of the best there is. Eh If you have written something good and want me to read it - please feel free and email me!

Also I am looking forward to some company here. I dont want the project to be another linkfest - if you feel that you would love to contribute to this blog, please join me! All I am looking for is quality writing.
