Plot
Dil was a classic love story cliché, done well. There was nothing in the movie one could not predict, but strong performances, great music and interesting screenplay were enough to catapult this movie into a huge hit. The story revolved around guy and a gal who cannot eye for an eye, but end up loving each other. However, the guy’s parents object to the proposal, thus prompting the guy and the gal to elope from their houses and marry. Guy’s parents successfully convince the gal to give up her love, only to be re-united in the end. It was a classic story done to death, but it sill kept the hankies wet and audiences coming back for more.

Highlights:
Aamir Khan’s and Madhuri Dixit’s acting which eventually won her the filmfare (Indian equivalent of Oscars) award for the best performance.

Aamir Khan supposedly wore 6 inch heels to match up to Madhuri Dixit’s height. He is that short.
