1990 : Movie Review : Ghayal

The first post in the series of all the movies I am reviewing out of 1990s.

Rajkumar Santoshi became a household name after this movie. Though Sunny Deol had his usual over the top action, he was considerably restrained, and gave an amazing performance as a wounded man. It wasn’t a surprise then that this movie ended up becoming a monster hit. This movie also gave an otherwise forgotten Meenakshi Seshadri, a much needed career boost. It remains still Raj Kumar Santoshi’s best movie yet.

I would say that Sunny Deol’s performance in Ghayal is the best among all his movies though he was equally good in movies like Damini and Arjun. Amrish puri and Om puri gave the best of the performances.

What do you think about this movie? I personally think this was Sunny Deol’s and Raj Kumar Santoshi’s best.
