Best Bollywood Scenes

Without going into much wasted laborious introduction to my writings, let me get down straight to the point. Here is a list of my all time favorite scenes from Bollywood movies.

Why this topic – well, picked it up randomly – felt like penning it  :)

Climax Scene: Seema.
One of the best – a confused cured lady looks at a maniac trying to stop her from continuing her journey in the train. Terrific irony in the scene, which couldn’t have been expressed by two seasoned performers in Kamal Hassan and Sri Devi.

Climax scene: Do Aankhen Barah Haath.
Less said about the end, the better.

Chandu and Malik take over Company: Company
Ramu’s masterpiece movie with the masterpiece scene; Chandu and Malik in the car killing their enemies, while its raining outside. Brilliantly executed scene - the backgroud score, the camera angle - vintage Ram Gopal Varma - everything was just perfect about this scene.

Shankar informs Sarkar about killing his brother Vishnu: Sarkar
A very recent movie, but another RGV masterpiece scene. To think he carries it off in a 10 minute scene with just 2 lines of dialogues! This scene has minimal dialogue - Shankar kills his brother, walks to his dad and informs him without uttering a word. Everyone, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachhan and Kay Kay carried off this scene superbly!

Climax Scene: Roja.
How many times do you see a terrorist leaving his captive, and the captive seeing his own and as well as his tormentor’s helplessness? Superb – just superb! Mani Ratnam at his best.

Black Friday: The entire movie.
…And I am not exaggerating here. Yes, the complete movie. This movie is a masterpiece.

Mithunda transformation: Jallad.
OK, you might think that I have lost my bonkers, but this scene is worth a mention! The transformation of Mithun from a simpleton to a crafty politician in one single scene by just changing his persona is brilliant! The transformation that he projects in that scene is a reason enough to understand why this guy has 2 national awards to his credit.

The Goa trip: Dil Chahta Hain
3 friends look over a hill to the sea and wonder if they will cross each other’s paths again in life. Beautifully shot scene. Aamir, Saif and Akshaye seemed like us.

The Interval Scene : DDLJ.
Yes, the only part of the movie I liked. Kajol asks SRK if he would come for her wedding, and he plainly replies NO and walks away. The song “Ho gaya hain tujhko” follows. Superbly shot scene, the only one in Aditya Chopra’s inglorious career.

Teacher gets his first indication of Alzheimer’s : BLACK
Amitabh’s expression is superlative in the scene he asks for an ice-cream and forgets where he wanted to go; very convincing and very moving.

Nandiniiiiiiiiiii under the bridge at Budapest, passed of as Italy: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Another favorite – a drunk Ajay Devgan wants to convey his love to his wife (Nandini played by Aishwarya Rai), but still manages to hold back, while his wife wants him to say the same. The whole scene is structured beautifully!

Milord & The Climax : Devdas
The best of SRK in his drunken avatar and very convincing too. The climax was superbly shot and had me at the edge of my seat - contrary to many, I think this was one of Shahrukh’s best performance.

Dad shoots his son: Shakti.
Need I say more?

Well that’s about it – I am sure I have missed many more, but I can’t get them into my head! Will update this article once they are back in my head again! Ta-ta!
